A great relief An eighty year old retired teacher Ms Saloni murmured-“A great relief”. I was standing near to her to attend a funeral of a close friend.   No one will say that Saloni has seen eighty spring seasons. Her bones were not shrinking. Her eyes sockets never got deeper. Eye brows were very prominent. She had a smart walking style. Her eyes, ears and teeth were strong. Her mental. Physical, emotional and financial health appeared to be very sound. Even now she will be seen with her students at home teaching them English and Mathematics. I wanted to know what she meant by “ A great relief ?” She started: - “See this lady Vasuki who expired is also of my age. She has three daughters. Vinitha, Varuni and Viveki. Mother, a widow after her husband’s death brought up these daughters and got them married. All are settled and living with their husbands. Vasuki the mother had her own age related medical problems.   Like a football she will be shunted from one daugh...

A Journey Tell us about yourself- the initial years of your life (education, career and general incidents) Take us through the detailed journey of your career and the education segment I was fortunate to have born in a lower middle class family. My father was a Kathakali Artist. Kathakali is a classical Indian Dance .A "story play" genre of art, but one distinguished by the elaborately colorful make-up. Performed mainly in Temples during festival seasons. It was a seasonal program and cannot depend upon livelihood. Hence he used to take up other jobs .Mother was a home maker who struggled to feed her five children. Studied in the schools at village, Malayalam medium. During 6 th and 7 th Classes, most heated subject was Mathematics. It is not that subject was tough or boring, but it was taught by a teacher who was very rude, expert in using abusive language. Most of the students hated him and the subject taught by him. But situation changed when I was admitted in ...

Competitive Examinations and pain of a Teacher. "What is the use of my efforts Sir ?" A senior faculty member has above question . She is a very sincere and dedicated teacher handling Higher Secondary Section. All through her aim is to see that students score very high. Like other faculty members she is on duty  24 x 7 . Any time students can approach her , clear their doubts. Even on Holidays she is available for students.  But in the heart of heart, she is worried. Students who are appearing for Board Examinations are more interested in their NEET and JEE examinations rather that Board Examinations. Last priority is for Board Examinations. The performance of Board Examination is not going to effect the results of Competitive Examinations. Selection to professional collages depends on the performance in competitive examinations. Scoring in Board examination is not going to affect their admissions in professional collages. Just a pass in Board examination is sufficient....
!!!  Promises  Promises !!! During the month of February 2019, I was having my usual morning walk. It was probably 6 am. A gentle man was taking out his car from his house to the road. As soon as he saw me came to me and wished. I reciprocated. Suddenly I couldn't recognize him. He introduced himself. A doctor by profession and a parent too.  After that incident many a time I could wish him and proceed with my walk. After two months I noticed that the house is being demolished. Gradually area was getting cleaned. One day early morning preparation for Bhoomi Pooja was going on. The Doctor and family members were there. I went to see them. He introduced his mother , probably of my age. I greeted her. I could understand from the Doctor that one complex with residence and clinic will be built there. I expressed my happiness and proceeded.  Later I found that construction was going on in full sing.   In the month of November 2020 he came to meet me with a...
